here is a very rare 1920-1933 BLANDING & BLANDING Providence, Rhode Island Wood Cigar box. this antique cigar box is a special Name brand for BLANDING & BLANDING Druggist & Tobacconist of which was
located on Weybosset St in Providence from the late 1800's. to the mid 1930's. solid wood box has a nice deeply embossed inside foil image on inside, has numerous Blanding & Blanding paper labels on it including a paper label on top right hand side cover that overlapped the sides to the bottom of box. has a small "NRA" member sticker on top inside right hand corner with the motto "WE DO OUR PART". front of box has wood burned "PERFECTO FINOS" and square wood burned cigar tax stamp warning for 3 cents to 10 cents each, left side of box has paper "CLARO" label. bottom of box has "FACTORY No. 70 5th District New Jersey with "25" for count in box. top outside cover has wood burned laurel leaf with "B.&B." in center of laurel. the edges are all papered in white and there is a partial blue tax stamp with "33" in punched holes. the box is in very good overall condition with soiling, some torn and ripped outer edge border paper, partial torn blue tax stamp, peeling to outer paper labels at edges and corners. dirt / dust on inside of wood box with piece of bottom inside box paper removed. no cracks to wood. the top cover has a slight bowing to it. sold as is as found.
